Well tonight I went out for my first ever RAW gourmet dinner at a restaurant. Now this is a regular restaurant however they offer a 3 course gourmet raw food dinner menu once a month to the raw/vegan community - I live in a small town...I was sooo excited to go !! It was a nice restaurant but I wasn't thrilled with the food to be quite honest.First off understand you didn't order ..Everyone got the same thing and in this case the meal was a lasagna but was full of basil (had a basil pistachio pesto) looked very pretty though lol...The appetizer was a cold soup - wasn't too bad but had mango in it (I am not a fan) the one thing I did like was desert (almost can't go wrong with desert lol) It was a blueberry sorbet that was soooo creamy it was great!! but a shame it served with a star anise syrup (urgh) it was too sweet with that under it - so I ate from the top in order to avoid the syrup..hmmmm I guess my taste for the "gourmet" isn't there lol - I would have rather had a great salad ,a green smoothie or something...Oh well ...maybe its just that I prefer MY un-cooking hahahaha!!!! I think it just seemed that there too much going on in the food - my tastes are simple ..
hmmmm
Well anyway I am still going with my transitioning ...I am drinking a smoothie EVERY morning !! I am using Amazing Grass Meal Chocolate Infusion mix (I get it at my local health food store but you can order online - here is a link to the Amazing Grass website ) AMAZING is right I LOVE this stuff!!! But I will say I tried it with water and it its yukky BUT use almond milk and its MUCH better add a banana and ever more incredible !! so here is my recipe for my morning get up and go juice!!
8 to 10 ounces Homemade almond milk
1 scoop Amazing grass Chocolate Infusion meal powder (raw/organic product)
1 banana (about 6 or 7 inches long
1/2 cup frozen mixed berries (strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, blackberries)
4 to 6 ice cubes
1 cup spinach (or greens that I have on hand)
Add ingredients in the order they are listed so ice/frozen berries get chopped up well
blend in blendtec blender on milkshake cycle and whoo hoo you have a great morning !!
Sorry no pic I am in a hurry in the mornings trying to get all my critters fed and me dressed etc etc so I haven't had a chance to take a picture lol....
This drink has about 10 grams of protein
and 5 to 6 servings of veggies in it !! Not a bad way to start off your day!! I sip it and it keeps me full for HOURS !! AND if I miss a morning (I missed it one morning I ran real late) OMG do I crave it ALL day !!!!! drove me crazy that day I missed out on it !! SO when ya hear that eating more greens makes your body crave them ...they are NOT kidding !!!!!!!!!!!!
well til next time
