Well here we are.........Day One (sort of)....

Well today is day one of my blog journal. I say day one but I have been researching about ways to improve my health and let's face it, those of us that are over weight have tried soooo many "diets" and "lifestyle changes" that we know them all by heart and we also know they NEVER work. HOWEVER ...It seems to me, that for first time, I have found one that MAKES SENSE!!!
So I took my income tax refund and invested it in myself..Now you don't have to spend alot of money on anything to do this. But through my research I found that many people doing this had blenders, dehydrators and juicers etc that just seemed to make the progression easier, so I went ahead and spent that money on getting myself the tools, so in my opinion, I would stand a better chance at sticking to this. Just my luck that I came to this path in my life that lead me here at income tax refund time haha...Now understand this won't be a waste of money on these tools cause regardless of whether this "works" as I can see how I would use them in my "normal" life and my son LOVES jerky so at least the dehydrator would get used hahaha...and since he loves juice I know that will get used and well the blender is just plain COOL!!! so I would FIND reasons to use it haha...

OK.... So now here I am waiting ever so patiently for my new toys to arrive ...and in the mean time I am still surfing the net for recipes and info and other blogs and video etc all pointing me to this "new" way of eating so I can get myself PAINFREE (I can't remember being without pain) and skinney (I have NEVER been skinney)

OH and for those who wonder why I chose to call this blog RAWBELLION ...well its my way of saying I reject our "FOOD PYRAMID" and HIGH PROTIEN or HIGH or LOW CARB diets etc...I rebel against the Docs who say eat from all food groups etc etc etc ...this is my RAWBELLION !!! As I endeavor to change myself and my life by eating RAW food! (no I don't plan to eat RAW MEAT - thats just plain gross!!)

OK so ya want to know how I came this??? really?? ya want all that dragged out here?? sheesh ok well I'll tell ya what, I will give ya the short version...I am in pain 90% of the time (the other time I am unconsious sleeping) I eat advil for breafast and throughout the day to keep myself going..By the time I get home from work I am exhausted in pain and unable to do anything - I barely get dinner fixed and then I sit on my butt unable to walk (I have a limp cause I have bad knee pain) ...I work partime in retail and also have my own dog training business..yet I have no strength left by the end of the day to work my OWN dogs. I also feel like I am missing out on sooo much with my son. I want to set a example for him (he is 17 years old so I may have already blown that haha) BUT maybe if he sees me get healthy he will join in with me (or at least eat better). I want to work with aggresive dogs but in the shape I am now I couldn't handle a dog with issues. I want to keep dogs out of shelters and in their homes ...that is my big motivation for this. To save lives.....So my journey begins...I researched and researched ....and researched some more and have learned soo much that I feel I am ready to take on this challenge. My goal long term is be 75% RAW..My short term goal - add 10 vegetables a day to my diet..hmmmm I hate the word diet...Let's see, need a better word...ENHANCE MY HEALTH WITH !! there that sounds better than "add to my diet" don't ya think? haha...

I am going to go RAW but SLOWLY!!! let's face it when we "diet" (yeah theres that word again) we deprive ourselves and it makes us MISERABLE !! So my new way of doing this?? I am not going take anything way (at first) I am instead "ENHANCING MY HEALTH" by ADDING FOOD TO MY DIET !!! Of course by adding to it I will naturally stop eating some things...BUT to start I will ADD!!! I will ADD green smoothies and juices, I will ADD salads to my meals, I will alter some ways of preparing food, I will try new foods and recipes...Doesn't that sound easy?? and doesn't it sound better than "dieting" ?????

I suppose I should tell you why I have chosen to become RAW and what led me to this discovery..but we will get into all that over time as I travel down this path....Besides isn't this first enrty into my blog long enough??? I will update this blog at least once a week..more if I have time or need to unload some random thoughts...That is another goal of mine..

Oh one more thing before I close ..I am NOT vegan,vegetarian or raw foodist....YET !! and if you already are and have any tips or ideas or recipes PLEASE send me a comment!! I can use all the support I can get on this endeavor!!

    just call me when you're about to use the blender and i'll come over. love fruit smoothies, V8, etc
    of course my diet could improve greatly too.
