Fell off the wagon ...but am back on track!!


Well had a few days where I "fell off the wagon" but I am back on track again!! I was feeling so great last week !! Soooo much energy! I lost 2.4 pounds. I was bouncing off the walls and I felt GREAT!! however had a family emergency and fell into the same old way of eating when i was stressed (didn't realize I was so stressed til I had a emotional melt down) however after letting off some steam I realized I was eating "wrong" and felt sooo tired!!! and had I NOT let myself eat "wrong" maybe I could have handled the stress better !! and it dawned on me what a contrast it was to how I felt just last week!!! WOW!!! never had a side by side comparison before because every "diet" I ever tried always still made me feel tired!!! all I can think now is WOW WOW WOW!!!! I will do everything I can to keep on track now that I have realized the difference!!!

I made a new dessert for myself (I was craving chocolate and bananas - mind you I normally HATE those 2 things together - go figure haha and almonds - lately I can't get enough almonds and I LOVE them raw (soaked in water over night brings out their sweetness) and I have been reading to LISTEN to my body so I followed what it wanted BUT I did it in a healthy way...I had a raw cacao/banana almond milk shake for my dessert and it was SOOOO YUMMMMYYYY!!!!!!!! I made my own almond milk (I don't like to add any sweetener to my almond milk and it's so easy to make anyway and wayyy cheaper than buying it!!) it's raw germinated almond milk then added raw cacao powder and vanilla with a touch of raw agave (didn't need much agave because of the sweet banana) blended in my Blendtec til smooth and WOW WOW WOW totally satisfying!!!!!!!!!!!

and it took me to my happy place hahaha!!!!!!!!!!

My body was soooo craving almonds/cacao and bananas!!!!
bananas have a calming effect (can help with stress) and can help with diarreah (which not to over share with my readers but, well it happens to us all - I have had due to the stress) also bananas are good natural heartburn helpers - they have a natural antacid effect (which I have also had) and the B6 in bananas help with PMS - which again has been an issue this week (sorry if I share too much for you but I figure anything I experience and blog here may help someone else in a similar situation so please bear with me as I blog on...) Bananas also help with depression cause they contain Triptophan which is converted to serotonin.By the way did you know if you rub banana on a mosquito bite it can help with the itching and help reduce swelling of the bug bite? nice to know in a pinch huh?
also am craving almonds and chocolate so I am assuming I am needing magnesium as magnesium is a natural muscle relaxer (which being stressed out this past week I need) and PMS is caused by low levels of magnesium (no wonder many women crave chocolate during menses !!) SOOO I indulged in some raw cacao tonight...
I love learning about nutrition with this new way of eating - It's something I never really learned about while doing other diets but now is such a great interest to me! Learning WHY I crave things and how to give in to what my body is asking for in a healthy way is so fantastic..I think with other "diets" I was so busy counting calories or points or having to plan every little speck of food that went into my mouth or whatever and so busy depriving myself of food and being tired and feeling hungry, I never had the time or interest before...Now I am not only eating great, but I am understanding a part of myself I never knew before..Self discovery is an awesome thing!!! I am finding I am finally getting to know ME!!
